uk's largest stock of classical furniture

A flame mahogany, Movingue and rosewood banded dresser. The breakfront rectangular top has a reeded edge, with three frieze drawers and six short and three long further drawers below, all with fine brass handles and on panelled tapering legs.

Inspired by the fine furniture of Edwards & Roberts, of which it is known the Spencer family bought several pieces of furniture. The firm became one of the leading London cabinet makers and retailers of antique furniture in the 19th century and was particularly famous for finely decorated late Georgian furniture. The design symbolism of this piece is inspired by a writing design in the South Drawing Room.
