About this Piece
A real 'conversation piece'... this centrally standing seating furniture was inspired by a visit to the Louvre Royal Palace Museum, in particular the seating arrangements of several borne settee and conversation chairs in the Grand Salon and Napoleon's sitting room. The frame has been hand carved in solid mahogany to an 18th Century design and oil gilded in dutch leaf with an antiqued patina showing rub-through to the red base layer. The upholstering has been carried out in our Dorset workshops and covered in Teal Linwood Omega - a richly coloured Italian velvets with washable, stain repellent finish.
