A specially commissioned oil painting on canvas interpreting The Finding Of Moses by Sir Lawrence Alma-Tadema.
The original was painted in 1904 and epicts the Biblical scebe of the infant Moses being carried in a procession after being found in abandoned in a basket in the reeds of the River Nile. It recently sold for a record smashing $35,922,000 at Sothebys in New York, making the highest price ever for a non-impressionist painting worldwide.
The canvas has been stretched and mounted in a 4.5" hand made frame in gold metal leaf finish.
