About this Piece
Traditionally upholstered drop arm sofa inspired by an important original at Kole House, Kent - with the design adapted to meet the demands of current day comfort levels. Only authentic natural materials, such as cotton, hessian and rubberised horse hair are traditionally upholstered over a hand made solid beech frame - dowelled, screwed and glued for strength.
Individual steel coil springs in the seat, each spring hand sewn with hessian pockets supported by the natural hair and rubber, further supported by a 100% cotton lining.
The main body and individual duck feather filled seat and back cushions are self-piped in Linwood Irving Caribbean, a calming print with metallic detail on 90% linen. The duck feather filled bolsters are self-piped in Linwood Pronto Jade, a strain resistant weave, with pleats and contrast central button at each end.
Mid blue Zoffany lead crystal tie backs are held by hand carved solid mahogany knole posts polished to a traditional finish. Matching mid blue Zoffany 7" bullion fringe flows to the floor to disguise glider wheels installed for manoeuvrability.
