This original 17th century pair of mirrors each consist of a rectangular plate, the frame decorated with ‘C’ scrolls, flowers and winged cherubs.  The pedimented surmount has billowing clouds. This pair of Baroque Giltwood and Gesso Wall Mirrors share an affinity with mirrors produced in Germany and Holland in the early 18th century.  See Graham Child, World Mirrors 1650-1900.  A mirror in the manner of Friedrich Unteutsch and a Dutch overmantel with similar cherub decoration.
