The empire style originates from the furniture that Napoleon introduced during his rule in the First French Empire period. Craftsmen often incorporated columns with rope-twist carving, animal-paw feet, anthemion, stars, and acanthus-leaf ornamentation, sometimes combining them with gilding.

An exclusive wardrobe in mappa burl veneers with ebonised front columns and stringing to the doors. The fitted interior has two hanging rails, four shelves and a mirror to the right-hand door.
