This George III Style Water Gilded Mirror in Napoleonic Finish is a gilt and ebonised overmantel mirror with rope and tassel surround.  Stylised dolphins support candle shelves either side.

The mirror frame is entirely hand carved in mahogany and water gilded in 23¾ carat gold leaf, in our Napoleonic finish - the leaf has been layed over a dark red bole and burnished with an agate stone in the appropriate areas with toning and subtle rub through to create a warm and impressive piece

The original 19th century mirror  commanded an estimate of $18,000 - $25,000 at auction in April 2008.
