A 20th Century Nain design carpet with pure silk pile hand woven on a silk foundation to 256 knots per square inch.

After an original 20th Century carpet from the Gajan workshop. The large central medallion is formed from a lotus blossom in the typical Nain blue, extending symmetrically into pendants whose dusky pink shade matches that of the shallow corners. The pale ground is strewn with birds of paradise of various types, palmettes, arabesques and delicately leafed tendrils.

This carpet has a 100% silk content.
