A Louis XVI Oil Gilded Mirror - Opulance is in the period style after a Louis XVI girandole.  The original was auctioned as a pair at Christies European Works of Art, 25th June 1997.  

This mirror was hand carved in solid mahogany and gilded in metal leaf for a classic finish.

The frame is boldly pierced and cast with foliate scrolling ornament, the crestings modelled as ribbon tied crossed quivers and torches with tassell terminals. 

This beautiful mirror would look wonderful in both traditional and contemporary homes as a beautifully crafted statement piece.
